CALL TO ORDER
Chair Biel called the meeting to order at 4:58 p.m.

Chair Biel opened call to the audience.
No one wished to speak.

COUNCIL LIAISON COMMENTS
Council Member Solomon had nothing to report.
PRESENTATIONS
1.*Historical Society Report
Teri Colmar gave a report from September to April. The museum hosted approximately 1,900 visitors
during the season. They are re-evaluating outdoor tours for next season and are currently giving private
tours with two-week's notice. The collections committee is evaluating the tour and exhibit schedule for
next year. Oral history projects are continuing with several being completed and the Board will evaluate
the viability of the tack room.
CONSENT AGENDA
1.REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF THE FEBRUARY 7 AND MARCH 7, 2022 MEETING MINUTES
Motion by Chair Dan Biel, seconded by Commissioner Puntadeleste Bozeman To approve the February
7 and March 7, 2022 meeting minutes as written.
Vote: 4 - 0 Carried
REGULAR SESSION AGENDA
1.DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION ANNUAL
REPORT AS REQUIRED BY OVTC § 6-10-5(F)(16)
Commissioner Lee provided the Annual Report for review and there was little discussion.
Motion by Chair Dan Biel, seconded by Commissioner Nicole Casaus to approve the 2021 Annual
Report as written.
Vote: 4 - 0 Carried
2.DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE CHANGES TO THE ORO VALLEY CULTURAL
HERITAGE PRESERVATION PLAN ITEM #2 HISTORIC STEAM PUMP RANCH
Ms. Dellerman-Silverthorn reviewed the changes that were made to the plan and there was some
discussion.
Motion by Chair Dan Biel, seconded by Commissioner Auvie Lee to approve the Oro Valley Cultural
Heritage Preservation Plan Item #2 Historic Steam Pump Ranch updates as written.
Vote: 4 - 0 Carried
3.REVIEW AND DISCUSSION OF THE 2008 STEAM PUMP RANCH MASTER PLAN AND THE 2014
STEAM PUMP RANCH MASTER PLAN UPDATE
Ms. Dellerman-Silverthorn reviewed the changes from the 2008 to 2014 plans, specifically changes to
the bunk houses, garage and barbeque. There was discussion between staff and the Commission that
included the statistically valid survey, rental spaces, onsite staff, and tent rentals at the Ranch.
4.REPORT BY COMMISSIONER LEE AND CHAIR BIEL AND COMMISSION DISCUSSION REGARDING
THE APRIL 9, 2022 CELEBRATE ORO VALLEY EVENT
Chair Biel and Commissioner Lee spoke regarding the Celebrate Oro Valley event. There was some
discussion.
5.*ELECTION OF HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION CHAIR EFFECTIVE MAY 3, 2022
Commissioner Lee nominated Chair Biel.
Motion by Chair Dan Biel, seconded by Commissioner Puntadeleste Bozeman to re-elect Chair Biel as
2022 Chair of the Historic Preservation Commission
Vote: 4 - 0 Carried
6.*ELECTION OF HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION VICE CHAIR EFFECTIVE MAY 3, 2022
Commissioner Bozeman nominated Commissioner Lee.
Motion by Chair Dan Biel, seconded by Commissioner Nicole Casaus to elect Commissioner Lee as
2022 Vice Chair of the Historic Preservation Commission.
Vote: 4 - 0 Carried
DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Ms. Dellerman-Silverthorn gave a construction update that included the garage and fire suppression
system for the Pusch House. She indicated that this Friday is the final concert for the spring season and
that May 14th is the final second Saturday for the season. There will be other events throughout the
summer. She announced that the Award Winning Steam Camp will take place May 31 - July 29 and is a
half-day program for local school children. The next HPC conference is October 19-21, 2022 and any
commissioners wanting to attend should contact her directly.
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Motion by Commissioner Nicole Casaus, seconded by Commissioner Auvie Lee to include a
conversation regarding equestrians and the 4H community cooperating at the ranch.
Vote: 4 - 0 Carried
ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Chair Dan Biel, seconded by Commissioner Auvie Lee to adjourn at 5:45 p.m.
Vote: 4 - 0 Carried
