son's burgeoning northwest has a new elementary school
in the works to accommodate the growth. Amphitheater
and Marana districts are busily constructing schools
which should open this fall. Catalina Foothills is about
ready to issue bonds and hire an architect. The Flowing
Wells board has bought a site and picked a name, but the • ,
start of construction depends on how fast builders can get
their new houses up.
Lew Sorensen, superintendent of the Catalina Foothills
School District, talks about growth in his district with itIN

Top of the RA Homes line
"Last year they were buying the least expensive
homes; this year buyers are taking the top of the line,"
says Kitt Brokken of Barry and Associates, agent for RA
Homes.
Richard Steele, also working at RA's Casas Adobes
Estates subdivision on Ina Road, confirms that business
seems to be better than last year.
They started selling the current phase of Casas Adobes
Estates in mid-February and by mid-April two-thirds of
the 111 homes were already reserved.
Mr.Steele noted that April was a slower month, though.
"Tax time heads off major purchases for nearly ...,
everybody,"he said.
So far most of the buyers in this phase have been from .. i -_ # ° - ,..
out-of-state. Mr. Steele said, "People who are moving .

Miss Brokken observed in connection with the tendency .. i
