HomeMy WebLinkAboutHistorical Records - Miscellaneous (43) To: Residents of Oro Valley Following you will find a proposed budget submitted by the minority members of your council . We feel that this is a realistic budget with which we can live and still provide services as good or better than those we now receive. You will notice we have submitted two budgets. The Arizona statutes state that a budget can be increased only l07 per year. More than the budgeted amount cannot be cpent. AIL of the budget does not have to be spent. Due to bureaucratic delay we w4.11 have to live in 1974-1975 on a 1970 census figure of about 650 residents. We will have a special census next year which should at least double the population. This plus normal growth should increase the pupulation to about 1500. The league of cities and towns advises us that our first - budget should look ahead 5 years. Hence the inflated budget and f.„ alongside the budget that will be spent. This budget is based on help from residents which the minority council members have available. These are: Town clerk and deputies: Mrs. E. Carreon, Mrs. M. Faccio, Mrs. M. Seagert, Mrs. Lamberson, Mr. Dodd Town Marshall and deputies : Mr. Groty, Mr. Petersen Mr. Gilman . $ Town Engineer: Mrssers: Mattson, Wright, Gay, Kriegh Town Auditor: Frizzell Building INspector:and Deputie : Messers Sullenger, Glickman Planning and and Zoning: Wilson, Sullenger, Cbessen, Slyter, Glickman, Motely - Magistrate: Zipf We feel very strongly that the people of Oro Valley can and ri""maw should govern themselves so that they can best retain their way of life. There will be one representative for each 200 - 3000 people whereas now you have one representative (Conrad Joyner) for some 70,000- 80,000 people. You own people will certainly be more receptive to your it ' c . ' needs than a large government. , ... i.' kmaisaiesur Pla111111""" , , a i... , . . '.
