Freeman Bureau of the Census Department of Commerce Federal Building Denver, Colorado 60202 Dear Mr. Freeman: This letter is written in behalf of the Committee for Incorporation of the Tovn of Oro Valley which is a small area Northwest of Tucson, Arizona. Recently the Arizona State Supreme Court ruled that the Town could be incorporated which ve beleve eill be the cad 31 a four year legal battle. Consequently, we exoect iacorporatioa could be forth- coming within the next 90 days. Since revenues for incorporeted cowllanicies are in part derived from sources which decermilie rhe allocated amou-aLs based upon eae population as determined by au official ceasus, and because the area has grown significantly since the last U. S. Census, oe would like to inquire as to how we irtight effect a newwofficiel census of the area. The area in question is approximately 2.55 square miles and we estimate that the population is near 126u. 'we are making every attait to keep our costs minimal and we do have volunteers who will work free of charge to help make an official census if this would be possible. Any information and help you can gbie us would De greatly appreciated. Very truly yours, ( t.Le 'fames D. Krie h 40 E.Calle Concordia Tucson, Ar:.zona 85704
