A desire for a meeting of this type has been requested by many who need more in formation in an unbiased atmosphere and who refuse to attend the private parties the CFI is using to present its slanted views. We challenge their "legal in- terpretations and factual research" alluded to in their March 13th circular. We challenge their ability to provide descent government on $65.00 per capita (their Don't they feel an obligation to correct the sense. of betrayal felt by many mho were originally recruited to their cause? Do you know that after four years they still do not know what the cost of government will be? Don't they feel obligated to present the full picture in a bipartisan atmosphere to the newcomers in the area and whose futures are also affected? If you support then, what did they tell you to gain your support? Have they contradicted these statements? They have for many including a taped newscast of their chairman agreeing to a public meeting in the interests of community harmony. That tape is on file at station KOPO. , Why are they afraid of majority rule? Is it because they don't have a majority? Why do they hide behind the legal technicalities of an obsolete law? It is ou belief that this is still a democratic country - majority rules. Rule by a minority is olignrchy. Do we an a small, power elite to control our "destiny" (their word)e Why do we continue to hear of money coming from outside the communitfto pay their legal costs? 'What interest do these outsiders have? What obligations has the CFI 'Incurred? What are their motives? Where are their- principles? Where is mrAlity? • For those of you who feel that the CFI still has a majority based on public sontiment four years ago, we can only ort to the vast change in public sentiment following 7 ,tergate. Do they really have the welfare of this community at heart? if so why do they not expose themselves to informfid dissent? People of good will, help us to exert pressure on the CFI to decide- the future of this community in an open forum, with a neutral moderator and a secret ballot - majority wins - winner take all. If the CFI fails to rise to our challenge, the Committee for Good Government at Reasonable Cost will present the argument against incorporation at a public meeting to be held at CDO High School at 4:30 P. K. on Sunday', March 31, 1974, People of, all persuasions are invited. Critical comment is invited. This public meeting will be the opening gun in our drive for disincorporation. V. P. Brand-on
