1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES—MAY 14, 2008
Chair Ingram asked everyone to review minutes.
MOTION: Ms. Hauca MOVED to approve the MAY 14, 2008 minutes. Commander Larter
SECONDED the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
2. UPDATE ON REGIONAL CITIZEN CORPS COUNCIL ACTIVITIES BY SCOTT
INGRAM
Chair Ingram reported that the Pima County Citizen Corps Council had a meeting two weeks ago
and is planning a 12 hour exercise on September 27, 2008 to engage Green Valley volunteers. The
exercise will include an evacuation scenario and volunteer reception center. There will be a final
planning meeting during August. People who wish to volunteer should contact Tim Siemsen at the
Pima County Health Department. People who wish to volunteer for the reception center should
contact Chair Ingram.
Chair Ingram reported that the State Citizen Corps Council met in May and there are currently sub-
committees working to plan for the future. The next meeting will be held in August.

5. CERT REPORT
Ms. Hauca reported that the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) refresher training has
been copyrighted. She advised that she is currently still working on a report from the committee
regarding the status of Teen CERT.
Chair Ingram reported that he requested first aid kits and stretchers for CERT. He also stated that
Tim Siemsen has ordered short wave radios for each Citizen Corp Council. Mr. Weintraub stated
that he is HAM Certified. Mr. Ingram advised that Mr. Weintraub would likely be in charge of the
radio.
Chair Ingram advised that Pantano Christian Church will be holding a CERT training class
beginning August 21, 2008.
The group discussed the possible costs of teaching CERT classes and how to organize the classes.
6. FIRE CORPS REPORT—Nothing to report
7. MEDICAL RESERVE CORPS (MRC) REPORT—Nothing to report
8. DISCUSSION REGARDING CITIZEN CORPS COUNCIL STRATEGIC PLANNING
Chair Ingram asked all members to make recommendations through him for the Chair position and
new members for the Citizen Corps Council.
The group discussed possible future objectives as a Citizen Corps Council such as developing more
CERT teams and starting a Teen CERT program. Commander Larter agreed to address CVAP
regarding CERT team recruiting. Discussion also arose regarding activities the Council could
perform for National Preparedness Month in September. Ms. Hauca agreed to contact Mayor
Loomis regarding a proclamation at a Town Council meeting during the month of September. The
group also discussed creating a New Resident Welcome Packet.
9. ADJOURNMENT:
The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at 5:00 P.M. in the Training
Room at the Police Department.
MOTION: Commander Larter MOVED to adjourn the meeting at 6:07 P.M. Mr. Tracy
SECONDED the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
