ROLL CALL PRESENT: ABSENT: Scott Ingram, Chair George Blanton, Member Bill Garner, Member Les Caid, Member Bill Glore, Member Sue Philpot, Member Jason Larter, Member Todd Jaeger, Member Karen Hauca, Member Courtney Labukas, Member Lee Mayes, Proxy (Left at 5:42 P.M) 1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES—NOVEMBER 28,2007 Chair Ingram asked everyone to review minutes. MOTION: Commander Larter MOVED to approve the November 28, 2007 minutes. Mr. Garner SECONDED the motion. Motion carried, (6-0). 2. UPDATE ON STATE CITIZEN CORPS COUNCIL ACTIVITIES BY SCOTT INGRAM: Chair Ingram reported that the State Citizen Corps Council is still dissolved, but they are currently accepting applications. 3. CVAP (VIPS) REPORT - No Report 4. NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH REPORT Mr. Glore advised that the License Plate Reader (LPR) is being utilized and a discussion followed regarding the capabilities of the system. 5. CERT REPORT Ms. Hauca reported that Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) will be having a mock- disaster training in February 2008. She noted that the training will be expanded to include a CERT training program to train people with disabilities. 01/09/08 Draft Minutes,Oro Valley Citizens Corps Council Page 2 of 2 Chair Ingram advised that Pima County discussed a volunteer focused planning meeting to develop a volunteer focused exercise that would include CERT teams, as well as other volunteers. The planning meeting is to be held in February. 6. FIRE CORPS REPORT Ms. Hauca advised that Golder Ranch has continued to discuss multiple volunteer options, such as an Explorer program, for the Fire Corps. 7. MEDICAL RESERVE CORPS (MRC) REPORT Chair Ingram reported that there will be an immunization training clinic on Thursday, January 10, 2008.. 8. REGIONAL CCC REPORT / 10. REPRESENTATION ON THE SOUTHEASTERN ARIZONA REGIONAL CITIZEN CORPS COUNCIL AND THE PIMA COUNTY CITIZEN CORPS COUNCIL Agenda Items 8 and 10 were discussed at this time. Chair Ingram stated that the Southeastern Arizona Regional CCC will be meeting soon. The results of the runoff for the members of the Council have not been announced. Dick Tracey is one of the members involved in the run off. 10. CITIZEN CORPS COUNCIL STRATEGIC PLANNING Commander Larter stated that Oro Valley is currently involved in the Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI). Through UASI, the Citizen Corp Regional Outreach and Community Preparedness received $520,000. Some of the things the Citizen Corp would be responsible for include volunteer management and donations, and mass care: sheltering, feeding and related services. Every entity within Pima County will be able to solicit and utilize funds. 11. ADJOURNMENT: Meeting adjourned due to lack of quorum at 5:42 P.M.
