RE: Amendment to the Tohono Chul Park PAD to allow wider Festival Banner Signs

The Tohono Chul Park is requesting an amendment to their Planned Area Development
(PAD) to allow larger festival banner signs. The request includes increasing the banner
width from 1.5' to 2.5'. The purpose of the request is to increase the banners' visibility
for passing motorists.
Section 2.1.2, Amendments, of the Tohono Chul Park PAD allows the Planning and
Zoning Administrator to administratively approve non -substantial changes to the PAD.
The proposed increase to banner width is considered a non -substantial change
because it does not affect the overall intent of the PAD or substantially add to the
anticipated impact on the surrounding area.
Based on staff's finding that the additional 1' banner width is a non -substantial change
and is permitted under Section 2.1.2, Amendments, of the Tohono Chul PAD, the
proposed amendment is hereby approved.
