Vice-Chair Lane called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

CALL TO AUDIENCE
Oro Valley Resident Bill Adler discussed the Your Voice, Our Future document;
specifically the cultural resources section. He also discussed the Town's budget process.
1. REVIEW AND/OR APPROVAL OF THE OCTOBER 5, 2015 REGULAR SESSION

MOTION: A motion was made by Commissioner Sunshine and seconded by
Commissioner Strandskov to approve the October 5, 2015 meeting minutes as written.
MOTION carried, 4-0
� 2. DISCUSSION REGARDING STRATEGIES FOR RECRUITING HIST�RIC
� PRESERVATION COMMISSION MEMBERS
Recreation & Cultural Services Manager Lynanne Dellerman reported there are no
applications for current vacancies to date. The positions have been advertised. The
group discussed additional advertising opportunities.
3. DISCUSSION REGARDING HISTORIC LANDMARK DESIGNATION PROCESS

Discussion occurred regarding how to process requests regarding designating property
. as a historic Iandmark. Parks & Recreation Director Kristy Diaz-Trahan suggested a
guest speaker make a presentation to the Commission and provide direction. This item � �
will be on a future agenda. �
4. REPORT AND DISCUSSION �F COMMISSION MEMBER ASSlGNMENTS -
a. HISTORIC PRESERVATION OUTREACH EFFORTS REGARDING AN UPDATE
ON THE WRITING CONTEST AND SPEAKERS BUREAU (VICE CHAIR LANE , ,
AND COMMISSIONER TRAIL) -
Vice-Chair Lane and� Commis�ioner Sunshine have no report on the writing contest. �
Commissioner Trail said she is working on the Speaker's Bureau and will share the �
budget at the next meeting.

PRESERVATION OFFFICE ANNUAL GRANT APPLICATION (COMMISSIONER

c. PR�SENTATION BY COMMISSIONER SUNSHINE AND COMMISSIONER
TH4MAE AND REC�MMENDATION FOR PR�PERTY MARKER GUIDELINES
T4 BE IMPLEMENTED ON ALL HISTORIC LANDMARK SITES
Commissioner Sunshine suggested reviewing the state of New Jersey's information on
�� - state markers to assist with establishing guidelines.

5. REPORT OF CURRENT�EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR HISTORIC
PRESERVATION COMIVIISSION MEMBERS TO ATTEND
Ms. Dellerman provided a list of educational opportunities to the Commission.
6. REPORT OF STEAM PUMP RANCH IMPROVEMENTS -
Ms. Diaz-Trahan discussed the following:
- Major stabilization work is complete. �
- Grass was planted and irrigated. -
- Rodent control is complete.
- The Oro valley Historical Society members reviewed and catalogued items from the
bunk house.

- Steam Pump Ranch ghosted structure presentation at the 2016 Arizona Historic
Preservation Conference
- Volunteer event at Steam Pump Ranch
- Harvest Heritage Festival �
8. APPROVE 2016 MEETING SCHEDULE AND DEADLINES
MOTION: A motion was made�by Commissioner Strandskov and seconded by
Commissioner Trail to approve the 2016 Meeting Schedule and Deadlines.
