LA CANADA DRIVE J SPECIAL SESSION AT OR AFTER 6:00 PM CALL TO ORDER Chairman Rodman called the October 20, 2015 Special Session of the Oro Valley Planning and Zoning Commission meeting to order at 6:02 PM. ROLL CALL PRESENT: Bill Rodman, Chairman _ � Bill Leedy, Vice-Chairman Melanie Barrett, Commissioner Tom Drazazgowski, Commissioner . Greg Hitts, Commissioner . Charlie Hurt, Commissioner Frank Pitts, Commissioner ALSO PRESENT: Joe Hornat, Council Member Joe Andrews, Chief Civil Deputy Attorney CALL TO AUDIENCE There were no speaker requests. Make it so! After tentative adoption Evaluate and Plan . Execute - Tonight's Purpose Chair Rodman opened the public hearing. . Paul �aker, �Oro Valley resident, questioned if residents would be able to afford the plan. Mr. Baker went on to comment there is a cost for growth and additional services. The cost of future taxes starts here and goes straight onto his tax bill. Carole Hoss, Oro Valley resident, applauded the committee's on their hard work and hopes the Commission and Town Council will take the plan to heart. The plan voices what the residents of Oro Valley want. Shirf Lamona, Oro Valley resident, stated that she has nothing but respect for the people of Oro Valley. Ms. Lamona went on to express her concern for the small town � character as well as land use in comparison with the adjacent area and development context. Neighborhood meetings is her final concern and waiting u,ntil the last minute for neighborhood meetings is not necessary. Residents should be able to express their issues in advance and have a way to present their objections to the proposal. Chair Rodman closed the public hearing. Discussion ensued amongst the Commission regarding the Your Voice, Our Future Plan. October 20,2015 Planning&Zoning Special Session Page 4 of 5 , MOTION: A motion was made by Commissioner Hurt and seconded by Commissioner Pitts recommend tentative adoption of the Your Voice, Our Future General Plan draft as written in Attachment 1 with the condition and modifications as written in Attachment A. MOTION carried, 7-0. PLANNING UPDATE (INFORMATIONAL ONLY) Bayer Vella, Planning Manager, presented the following: - Upcoming Town Council Meeting, November 4th -�Special Session Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting, November 5tn ADJOURNMENT M4TION: A motion was made by Vice-Chairman Leedy and seconded by Commissioner Barrett to adjourn the Planning and Zoning Special Session at 7:20 PM.
