Re: Harvest Restaurant — Expansion Uncovered Patio — 10325 N. La Canada
Drive
Narrative of Work
The Harvest Restaurant is extending the existing patio east toward La Canada Drive.
This patio will not be covered. The patio will be enclosed matching the existing
design and color of the existing 42" high wrought iron fence. This change will have
no visual impact to the existing shopping center because the design matches existing
elements.
The existing pedestrian walkway will be extended around this patio. No ADA ramps
or handicapped parking spaces are impacted by this project. The accessible route
along the front of the building will be maintained.
The finish grade will match the existing finish grade for the patio area with a 1 % slope
away from the building towards the existing parking area. This will allow for rain
water to drain away from building. The building drains to the west and this change
will not impact existing building drainage.

The Town of Oro Valley Permitting Division offers the Engineering comments listed
below. Note: these comments are preliminary in nature and subject to change upon
receipt of more detailed information. These comments are for guidance and are not a
substitute for all applicable Town of Oro Valley, Pima County, State of Arizona and
Federal codes, regulations, ordinances and/or laws. The following comments are to be
addressed and are meant to protect the public's health, safety, and general welfare:
General Comments
It was discussed with you during the DRC meeting that a Development Plan and Civil
Improvement Plan update would be required for this project. Staff continued to discuss
the processing requirements for this project after the DRC meeting concluded and
determined that a Site Plan prepared by a registrant would be sufficient and updates to
the originally approved plans would not be required. Therefore, please provide a Site
Plan as part of the Building Plan submittal and include the following:
1. The extent of new concrete pavement and fenced -in areas.
2. Continuation of an ADA compliant accessible route around the outdoor patio area is
to be provided and depicted on the plan. The accessible route is to provide
unobstructed access for users of the commercial center to be able to get to either
side of the extended patio without having to enter the patio area.
3. Provide spot elevation data to verify that the outdoor patio area will meet ADA
accessibility requirements for maximum cross -slopes.
If you have any questions, please call me at (520)229-4808.
