LA CANADA DRIVE        REGULAR SESSION AT OR AFTER 5:00 PM   CALL TO ORDER   ROLL CALL   CALL TO AUDIENCE - at this time, any member of the public is allowed to address the Commission on any issue not listed on today’s agenda. Pursuant to the Arizona open meeting law, individual Commission members may ask Town staff to review the matter, ask that the matter be placed on a future agenda, or respond to criticism made by speakers. However, the Commission may not discuss or take legal action on matters raised during "Call to Audience." The Commission may not discuss, deliberate or take any action on the topics presented pursuant to ARS 38-431.02H   ADJOURNMENT   POSTED: 01/03/2023 at 5:00 p.m. by dt When possible, a packet of agenda materials as listed above is available for public inspection at least 24 hours prior to the Commission meeting in the Town Clerk's Office between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The Town of Oro Valley complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). INSTRUCTIONS TO SPEAKERS INSTRUCTIONS TO SPEAKERS Members of the public have the right to speak during any posted public hearing. However, those items not listed as a public hearing are for consideration and action by the Commission during the course of their business meeting. Members of the public may be allowed to speak on these topics at the discretion of the Chair. If you wish to address the Commission on any item(s) on this agenda, please complete a blue speaker card located on the Agenda table at the back of the room and give it to the Recording Secretary. Please indicate on the blue speaker card which item number and topic you wish to speak on, or if you wish to speak during “Call to Audience,” please specify what you wish to discuss when completing the blue speaker card. Please step forward to the podium when the Chair announces the item(s) on the agenda which you are interested in addressing. LA CAÑADA DRIVE            REGULAR SESSION AT OR AFTER 5:00 PM   CALL TO ORDER    Chair Biel called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.   ROLL CALL Present: Puntadeleste Bozeman, Commissioner Nicole Casaus, Commissioner Auvie Lee, Vice Chair Michael Paul, Commissioner Dan Biel, Chair Absent: Joan Pliego, Commissioner Staff Present:Tobin Sidles, Legal Services Director Bayer Vella, Planning Manager Matt Jankowski, Parks and Recreation Deputy Director MaryAnne Tolmie, Recording Secretary Attendees: Devon Sloan, Oro Valley Historical Society CALL TO AUDIENCE    Chair Biel opened Call to Audience. No one wished to speak. Chair Biel closed Call to Audience.   COUNCIL LIAISON COMMENTS    Councilmember Solomon was absent.   PRESENTATIONS   1.Historical Society Update      12/05/2022 Minutes, Historic Preservation Commission Regular and Study Session 1  Devon Sloan gave a presentation, handed out an invitation to the February 19, 2023 fundraiser, and offered their latest brochure for perusal.   CONSENT AGENDA   1.Review and approval of the November 7, 2022 Meeting Minutes       Motion by Chair Dan Biel, seconded by Vice Chair Auvie Lee to approve the November 7, 2022 meeting.  Vote: 5 - 0 Carried   ADJOURNMENT OF THE REGULAR SESSION    Chair Biel adjourned the Regular Session at 5:07 p.m.   STUDY SESSION   CALL TO ORDER    Chair Biel called the Study Session to order at 5:08 p.m.   STUDY SESSION AGENDA   1.DISCUSSION REGARDING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT AS IT RELATES TO THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION PROCESS FOR HOMES WITHIN TOWN BOUNDARIES    Mr. Jankowski introduced the topic and welcomed Bayer Vella, Planning Manager. Mr. Vella spoke about the processes the planning department goes through as it relates to historic preservation. Discussion ensued amongst the commission and staff.   ADJOURNMENT OF THE STUDY SESSION    Chair Biel adjourned the Study Session at 5:58 p.m.   RECONVENE THE REGULAR SESSION    Chair Biel reconvened the Regular Session at 5:59 p.m.   REGULAR SESSION AGENDA   1.DISCUSSION OF LIVESTOCK RELATED ORGANIZATIONS PARTICIPATING DURING APPROPRIATE TIMES AT THE STEAM PUMP RANCH PROPERTY    Commissioner Casaus is interested in connecting local 4H and livestock groups to Steam Pump Ranch 12/05/2022 Minutes, Historic Preservation Commission Regular and Study Session 2  Commissioner Casaus is interested in connecting local 4H and livestock groups to Steam Pump Ranch for possible events. Mr. Jankowski explained the event request process and the staff is willing to reach out to anyone that the Commission deems appropriate in regards to events at the Ranch. Commissioner Bozeman had to leave the meeting.   2.CONSIDERATION AND ADOPTION OF CALENDAR YEAR 2023 HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION MEETING SCHEDULE       Mr. Jankowski presented the following Mondays in 2023 as possible Commission meeting dates: January 9, February 6, March 6, April 3, May 1, June 5, September 11, October 2, November 6 and December 4.
