Seniors will now feel comfortable entering and leaving the building. Seniors now using the building will be more willing to partake in the new seniors programs. It was a long time in coming ... too long..too many missed opportunities, but that's behind us now and many physically challenged people will feel a sense of relief, that the new entrance will be finished! First, this option allows me some dignity as I can be accompanied by friends or family in the elevator. Second, I must use a walker so closer parking with a well maintained surface Is imperative. This maybe the more expensive option but this important issue as been delayed for far too long. Please remember that most of the town's disabled citizens are contributing members and we vote too. Van Zef Sent: Thursday, March 2, 2023 2:52 PM To: Town Council <council@orovalleyaz.gov> Subject: Thank youl Dear Oro Valley Mayor, Vice Mayor, and Council Members, Thank you for your yes vote last night for the #2 option ADA revision of the Community Center. It will never be forgotten that you did the right thing for me and your other mobility challenged constituents! I was at the council meeting last night and it was apparent that the council and staff members had done their research. For example, the Vice Mayor asked if there was adequate space if someone needed to drop off a disabled person at the entrance if the additional disability parking was full due to a special event? Yes, staff had considered this and it was implemented into the plan. Well done! With much appreciation, Debra Van Zee WARNING: This email came from outside the Town of Oro Valley. Many of the properties with signs have issues that I wonder about. They have fancy gates, entrances, and walls/fences that I wonder if permits were obtained for. They have outbuildings that exceed the allowed square footage based on home size, were variances obtained? There are equestrian facilities that obviously rent ry spaces, horse stalls for rent, and hold events. Do they pay the correct taxes? Does their lighting meet the dark sky requirements? Was their lighting permitted? These people should be held to the same scrutiny as they want to hold the church to. Thank you WARNING: This email came from outside the Town of Oro Valley.
