DISCUSS REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL TU HIRE A C4NSULTANT
Ms. Kvancz adv�ised that this meeting was to discuss and start the Request
Far Pro asal RFP aperwork for the hiring of a consultant as approved by

Council to rev�iew all the data gathered by the Fire Adv�isory Board and for
the consultant to make recommendations that may be considered
appropriate for the Tov�m of Oro Valley rega`rding fire and ambulance
, ser�ices. The approximate date to ser�d out the RFP would be mid to late
September, 1997.
E�PERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FIRE/EMS CONSULTANT
Ms. Kvancz handed out a sheet with suggested minimum qualifications for
a Fire/EMS consultant for the Baard's rev�iew and comments. Request was
made to increase the population under Item 4 from 25,OU4 to read 50,000.
There was also discussion reference the 1994 Uniform�ire Codes. A
suggestion was made from the audience th�at the Fire Board contact Mr.
� ` Bob Maassen, Town of�ro Valley Building �fficial, for a copy of the

Discussion continued. Recomm�ndation was made that the Boaxd should
receive itemized billing. The consultant's recommendations will be
reviewed by the Fire Advisory Board before being presented to Council.
There was discussion u�der the secti�n: Possible Recommendations For
Fire/EMS Services in Oro Valle . Item#5 was discussed in length and it

Discussian continued with comments from the audience questioning a need
for chan ' the current fire response system. It was agreed that after

reviewing the recammendations from the consultant there may be no need
for change s and then again there may b e a ne e d for several change s
especially as the Tovv�n grows.

The next meeting of the Fire Adv�isory Rev�iew Board was confirmed for
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 1997, at the Tovv�n Hall Conference room at
