Motion seconded by Fred � McCulloch. Motion carried unanimously. DISCUSS REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL TU HIRE A C4NSULTANT Ms. Kvancz adv�ised that this meeting was to discuss and start the Request Far Pro asal RFP aperwork for the hiring of a consultant as approved by p � )p Council to rev�iew all the data gathered by the Fire Adv�isory Board and for the consultant to make recommendations that may be considered appropriate for the Tov�m of Oro Valley rega`rding fire and ambulance , ser�ices. The approximate date to ser�d out the RFP would be mid to late September, 1997. E�PERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FIRE/EMS CONSULTANT Ms. Kvancz handed out a sheet with suggested minimum qualifications for a Fire/EMS consultant for the Baard's rev�iew and comments. Request was made to increase the population under Item 4 from 25,OU4 to read 50,000. There was also discussion reference the 1994 Uniform�ire Codes. A suggestion was made from the audience th�at the Fire Board contact Mr. � ` Bob Maassen, Town of�ro Valley Building �fficial, for a copy of the ���� � Tovv�r� codes. � , w a , S/25/97 Minutes, Fire Advisory Board 2 � DESCRIBE TASKS Ta BE PERF4�MED BY C4NSULTANT WITHIN A SPECIFIED TIME FRAME. FEE T4 CONSULT. Discussion continued. Recomm�ndation was made that the Boaxd should receive itemized billing. The consultant's recommendations will be reviewed by the Fire Advisory Board before being presented to Council. There was discussion u�der the secti�n: Possible Recommendations For Fire/EMS Services in Oro Valle . Item#5 was discussed in length and it Y Was decided to increase the times from 4 to 5 minutes on 5.a and S.b and to . 6 min.ute s on .c. Discussian continued with comments from the audience questioning a need for chan ' the current fire response system. It was agreed that after �g reviewing the recammendations from the consultant there may be no need for change s and then again there may b e a ne e d for several change s especially as the Tovv�n grows. ;� \:� Comment was made that as a Professianal the consultant may find items ��/ � in 1 ded or missed in the RFP or their re orts. Item that the Board has not c u p #6 was revised to include hav�ing the consultant advise the Boaxd of missing � inforination. Item#7 was added reference the fee. C4NSULTANT Ta PR�VIDE THREE REFERENCES OF TO�'VNS/CITIES WHERE THEY HAVE CONSULTED, TO INCLUDE NAME, TITLES AND � TELEPHONE NUMBER UF CUNTACT. � After fiaxth.er discussion the revised Fire Adv�isary Board's Minimum Qualifications For A Fire/EMS Consultant was completed. MOTI4N: Herb Rutt moved t�have the Guidelines for RFP adopted , with the changes as noted. (Please see Attachment A - � finalized copy of the guidelines for the RFP.)
