HomeMy WebLinkAboutPackets - Council Packets (46)Stine, Michelle From: Bower, Julie Sent: Wednesday, November 04, 2015 9:57 AM To: Town Council Cc: Caton, Greg; Sidles, Tobin; Phyllis Smiley (psmiley@cgsuslaw.com) Subject: Funding Council: Bill Alder has requested that the following comments be provided to Town Council: In referencing the funding requirements for Policies or Actions in the Your Voice Plan, our language in the Plan refers to "continuously engaged or included ". I think we need to propose a structure that might bring that about. A maximum of four citizen representatives from the three Committees would meet three times during the fiscal year timed to work within the developing, future fiscal budget. The Committee members with Management, the Mayor and Vice Mayor would hold a minimum of two Open Houses - one in a community location ( church, community center ) one in the Town Council Chamber to present and receive suggestions from the community on funding options on specific items offering possible amounts proposed, timing, and priorities. I would hope two citizens from the Development committee would agree to participate: Steve Roach and Michael Schoppach; Ellen Guyer from Environment and Joe Winfield from Community. If Ellen can't make a meeting, Helen Dankwerth would be asked to fill in. If Joe Winfield can't make a meeting, Dave Perry could be the back up attendee or Roosevelt's wife ( Hannah )? I believe these people not only would apply good intellect to the process, but would become good public spokespersons for what can be approved in the fiscal budget. We need to have agreement from the Council that this structure will become part of the Plan as a Goal and Action item subject to the willingness of residents to participate. I need to know whether I should include this recommendation Wednesday or whether you will seek their vote on that with their motion.
