HomeMy WebLinkAboutPackets - Council Packets (72) To Whom It May Concern We are Rust and Carrie Gilchrist. Our home directly overlooks the property in question. We are in support of this rezoning. While we of course would prefer the land stay vacant,we also want our taxes to stay reasonable so we understand that to do that,we must grow the tax base and welcome some reasonable development,As a contractor and former realtor,we know that Oro Valley has very few future development opportunities. We attended the neighborhood meeting years ago in which an apartment complex was proposed on the same site. This design is by no means an apartment complex.Based on the developer design,it seems to be a fairly good transition between us and the office space and La Canada Road. I appreciate the multiple revisions that have been made as the developer has tried to accommodate residential concerns. As long as 2 story residential homes will not be in our view line, and there will be a natural, landscaped buffer between our larger lots and the project,we fully support the project. Rust and Carrie Gilchrist 1611 W Limewood Dr Oro Valley,AZ 85755 t‘\\i4 As residents on East Limewood, my family selected this rural neighborhood to live in due to the rural lifestyle and large lots within minutes of commercial development, retail stores, grocery stores, gas stations and other local services. In being on rural land in the middle of development, I recognize that we are actually more the abnormal than the normal in the area. The benefit of our location is being near development rather than far out in Catalina and beyond. We already know that just south of us we are going to have commercial development. We also know that the property only a couple lots away from our eastern lot line will also have some form of office or commercial development. Our only concern is what that transition to that higher intensity looks like. We are very pleased that the developer chose single-family residential homes as the buffer between our equestrian neighborhood and that office use. This seems to be a reasonable approach that also doesn't negatively impact those future residents that will be right next to the office buildings. The layout seems to preserve the existing natural elements like the wash and I believe the design will create a nice neighborhood in keeping with the integrity of the Oro Valley community. I encourage you to support this infill development that has compromised on what type and kind of development can go in this unique spot. I do not believe this proposed development will have any negative impact on our home or family, but rather can set an example for future growth. I encourage you to share the same opinion and also support this smart growth of our community and approve this plan. Robert Smith 1651 w. Limewood dr.
