Mr. Abraham gave an overview of an updated table from the 2007 groundwater evaluation report. He explained the current condition as compared to the projected water levels from the report. The aquifer is responding positively as a result of the development of renewable water. Water level declines are significantly less than the predictedlevels. Staff recommended an additional amount of time, perhaps 2 to 5 years, at the current lower pumping rates is necessary to further evaluate the aquifer condition. Regarding the use of the word sustainable, Mr. Saletta suggested using another term such as target groundwater production rate. No formal action was taken or required. ITEIVI #2 — DISCUSSION REGARDING THE FORMAT OF THE GROUNDWATER LEVEL AND AQUIFER METRICS DATA Chair Milkey requested staff format the data so there is a year-by-year groundwater level comparison when presenting the aquifer metrics to the Subcommittee and the Commission. Mr. Saletta indicated they can present the data in that format after the report is completed and it will be presented to the Commission in October. Metro is moving forward with land acquisition and easements. Mr. Abraham reported water quality data has been analyzed and reviewed by Carollo Engineers. Carollo has prepared a first draft of a report for Oro Valley Water Utility with preliminary results indicating water quality from the Lower Santa Cruz wells meet all standards and blending of that water into our system is feasible.
