Lynanne Dellerman, Recreation & Cultural Resources Manager � . CALL,TO THE AUDIENCE - no speakers � 1. REVIEW AND/OR APPROVAL �F THE APRIL 4, 2016 REGULAR SESSION MINUTES AS WRITTEN. April 4, 2016 minutes MOTION: A motion was made by Vice Chair Sunshine and �econded by Commissioner Ohlson to approve the April 4, 2016 regular session minutes. MOTION carried, 6-0 2. PRESENTATION, DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION OF PLANTING PLAN OF STEAM PUMP RANCH BY DARLENE SHOALWALTER, MCGANN & ASS4CIATES � Kristy Diaz-Trahan, Parks & Recreation Director, explained part of the capital improvement funding for the Steam Pump Ranch Master Plan included stabilization and mitigation of the land. A planting plan was requested by the Commission and McGann and Associates were hired to design the plan. Ms. Diaz-Trahan explained that before a plan can be executed, management of the land, discovery of where water flows and settles, and a possible irrigation system must be addressed. The intent of the presentation is for the Commission to review and possibly recommend it pass as part of the easement agreement with Pima County. . MOTION carried, 4-2 with Vice Chair Sunshine and Commissioner Thomae opposed �3. REPORT OF CURRENT EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION MEMBERS TO ATTEND (DISCUSSION MUST BE LIMITED TO INFORMATION AND CLARIFICATION) Ms. Lynanne Dellerman, Recreation & Cultural Resources Manager, provided upcoming � educational opportunities for the Commissioners. DISCUSS AND P4SSIBLE ACTION ON THE WORK PLAN PRIORITIES FROM THE 4R0 VALLEY CULTURAL HERITAGE PRESERVATI�N PLAN Chair Lane reviewed excerpts from the Rock Art and the Oro Valley Cultural Heritage Preservation Plan. Each Commissioner addressed areas of interest which they sought as priority. The priorities selected for implementation include focus on the Proctor Leiber � House and establishing processes and procedures for identifying historic , neighborhoods. . MOTION carried, 6-0 - . MOTION: A motion was made by Commissioner Crane and seconded by Corr�missioner Thomae to identify process and .procedures for historic neighborhoods. MOTION carried, 6-0 5. REPORT REGARDING ORO VALLEY HISTORICAL SOCIETY W�RKPLAN (DISCUSSION MUST BE LIMITED TO INFORMATION AND CLARIFICATION) Ms. Diaz-Trahan reported that President Warren Lazzar of the Historical Society . resigned and a new chair, Jim Horn was elected. A collections subcommittee of the Historical Society applied to the Arizona Historical Society for a certification that would allow them to become an organizational museum. The museum would enable docent tours and grants. 6. C�MMISSION MEMBER ASSIGNMENTS a. REPORT AND DISCUSSION ON THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION OUTREACH EFFORTS' WRITING CONTEST BY CHAIR LANE Chair Lane noted that the quality of essays were improved over last year and individual reflections offered for better essays. Twenty-nine essays were submitted. Placing the writing contest on a future agenda with the possibility of holding the contest in the fall was discussed. REPORT AND UPDATE ON THE ORO VALLEY HISTORICAL SOCIETY SPEAKERS BUREAU BY COMMISSIONER OHLS4N Commissioner Ohlson attended the Historical Society meeting and delivered a synopsis of the material covering the Apaches, mining, and the cattle era. He also indicated that future topics could be tailored to specific audiences so work can be done in conjunction with the Historical Society given that they have an abundance of resources. 7. DEPARTMENT REPORT DISCUSSION MUST BE LIMITED TD INFORMATION � AND CLARIFICATION) . Ms. Diaz-Trahan reaffirmed the request for a written department report. She reported that the budget process included grant match funding for an internship. She also clarified the funding for Steam Pump Ranch indicating that there are no capital improvement projects identified for next fiscal year. However, funds are allocated for five year capital improvement projects for specific needs. Click here for Directors Report , 8. DISCIJSSION MUST BE LtMITED TO INFORMATION AND CLARIFICATION) � � Chair Lane reiterated that the priorities that were previously discussed will be on the next agenda. Ms. Diaz-Trahan reminded the Commission of the guest speaker from Tohono O'Odham. 9. NEXT HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION MEETING TENTATIVELY SCHEDULED FOR MONDAY, JUNE 6, 2016 TO BEGIN AT 5:00 P.M. - DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION � No discussion. ADJOURNMENT .
