La Canada Drive Oro Valley, AZ 85737 RE: Support for NexMetro Rezoning Case in Oro Valley Requested Dear Honorable Mayor, Council Members, and Mr. Vella: Safeway, as owner of property within the Safeway Vistoso Plaza, is in support for the proposed rezoning of Rancho Vistoso Parcels 5u and 7i to PAD HDR from PAD C-1 in conjunction with the proposed road realignment and traffic signal to be located at the northernmost ingress/egress point of the Safeway-anchored shopping center. For over a year, NexMetro Development, LLC (“NexMetro”) and the Safeway Vistoso Plaza owners have been in discussions on the proposed rezoning, where a portion of the project will be located immediately adjacent to the Safeway Vistoso Plaza, with a shared access drive from Rancho Vistoso Boulevard. During this time, NexMetro modified its site plan per discussions with Safeway and the other commercial property owners within the shopping center to create a highly harmonious and safe project. We believe NexMetro’s rezone request, and the associated shared access drive with a traffic signal, will provide Safeway shoppers with easier access to and from the store over the long term and will enhance the overall customer shopping experience in the center. We respectfully ask that you please support NexMetro’s rezoning request. Sincerely, Carl Huntington, Division President Southwest Division CC: Mr. Jared Geisler, NexMetro Communities (via email: jared@nexmetro.com)
