This emai! was also sent to Bayer Villa, Mary Jacobs, and Patty Hayes. Have a great day! Thark you, Diane Bristow Mayor Hiremath and Council Members, It was on August 22, 2011, that I attended an Outdoor Displays Community Outreach Meeting. Indeed, it was quite an interesting meeting with only one business owner and one business manager very much in favor of outdoor displays. The manager who requested this no Ionger works in Oro Valley. Just having reviewed my notes of this meeting, I found ADA requirements were mentioned three times. These were mentioned by a senior planner, Karen Berchtoid, Susanne Smith, and Dave Williams. One ADA requirement was customer egress rnust comply with federal regulations;thus, the 4 foot clearance around doors. Another pertained to the location of the display;thus the required walkway around the display. The third mention of ADA requirements had to do with the height of the display; thus the need to consider safety issues like stacking items and display of glass items. None of the station presenters, during this meeting, are now employed by the Town. Current Council Members, in attendance left prior to the station discussions groups. Therefore, my ADA questions are being addressed to you, and I hope you will clarify each of these with the appropriate staff inembers during the October 18, 2017 Council Meeting. My questions are: 1. Will the customer egress to stores comply with federal regulations? 2. Will the height of displays comply pertaining to safety issues of stacking items and display of glass items? i As David Williams stated at the close of the Outreach Meeting, there must be a balance between being business-friendly and listening to citizens' concerns. As good citizens we all have the responsibility to comply with the laws of ourTown. When given a one ortwo page sheet illustrating and explainingoutdoor display policies, should not business owners have the responsibility to be good citizens and comply with this code? Thank you for your help with this.
