CALL TO ORDER
Vice Chair Temple called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

3.CALL TO THE AUDIENCE
Tony D'Angelo a Town of Oro Valley resident, spoke with regards to visitors and tourists offerings within
the Town of Oro Valley.

1.REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF THE NOVEMBER 14, 2023 REGULAR SESSION MEETING MINUTES
Vice Chair Gary Temple, Board member Philip Saletta to approve November 14, 2023 meeting minutes.
Vote: 5-0 carried
2.ELECTION OF PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD CHAIR EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 21,
2024
Motion by member Philip Saletta, and seconded by member Joanne Moothart.
Vote: 5 - 0 Carried
3.ELECTION OF PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD VICE CHAIR EFFECTIVE
FEBRUARY 21, 2024
Motioned by Vice Chair Gary Temple and seconded by member Philip Saletta
Vote: 5 - 0 Carried
4.DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION TO RECOMMEND THAT COUNCIL APPROVE THE
VISTOSO TRAILS NATURE PRESERVE SURVEY AND ITS IMPACTS ON THE FUTURE VISTOSO
TRAILS NATURE PRESERVE MASTER PLAN
Mr. Radnovich delivered a presentation on the Vistoso Trails Master Plan via a PowerPoint. This led to
a productive discussion and questions among the members and staff in attendance.
Blue Cards-
Roy Hoff, a resident of Town of Oro Valley and board member of Preserve Vistoso, shared insights on
grant writing, projects, and donations. Additionally, Richard Surowiel, another Town of Oro Valley
resident, highlighted differing opinions on grant acquisition and raised other concerns regarding the
Vistoso Trails Nature Preserve.
Motioned by member Philip Saletta and seconded by Vice Chair Gary Temple.
Vote: 4 - 1 Carried

5.PRESENTATION ABOUT THE COMMUNITY'S EFFORT TO CREATE THE NEXT 10-YEAR PLAN,
KNOWN AS OV'S PATH FORWARD
Rene Olivera, Senior Planner for the Town of Oro Valley, delivered a PowerPoint presentation providing
an overview of the forward direction for OV Paths. During her presentation, she discussed the focus on
increasing awareness and education within the community. Members asked clarifying questions.
6.DISCUSSION OF COMMUNITY CENTER FUND FINANCIAL RESULTS THROUGH DECEMBER 2023
Mr. Gephart Chief Financial Officer provided an update. Members asked clarifying questions.
7.DISCUSSION REGARDING COMMUNITY CENTER CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT REQUESTS
Questions and discussion arose among the members. The board members collectively agreed with a
unanimous no regarding repair of the men's and women's saunas located at the Community Center.
8.DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING THE PARTICIPATION OF THE PARKS AND
RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD IN THE UPCOMING 50TH ANNIVERSARY EVENTS ORGANIZED
BY THE TOWN OF ORO VALLEY
Members voted to ride on a float for the Town of Oro Valley's 50th parade.
Vote: 5 - 0 Carried
