Sorry I can't be there to give my thanks. Tom and Bob have held seats on this commission for much of the last 8 years I've attended P&Z meetings. They have put in many long, sometimes tense nights, and many more hours away from meetings, doing the research, formulating the questions, and visiting properties. As the Chamber president, and an Oro Valley resident, I haven't always agreed with the decisions these 2 gentlemen have made. But I've never expected that. Tom and Bob have been consistently kind and courteous. They have always listened. They are tireless, smart, dedicated and prepared, and our community is a better place because of their service. Never once have I questioned their commitment to Oro Valley. They love this place, they care about it, and they have always tried to do the right thing. Thank you, Tom and Bob. You have served us well. Sincerely, Dave Perry President / CEO Greater Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce 7435 N. A personal matter keeps me away from tonight's Toni Dorsey meeting. AAA Arizona As town staff points out, these zoning code amendments to the EEZ are Directors consistent with direction within the General Plan and the Town Council's Ron Arenas Strategic Leadership Plan. The people of Oro Valley want us to compete Picture Rocks Cooling, regionally, and beyond, for primary employers, who create the jobs and Heating and Plumbing economic activity that support housing values, can reduce infrastructure Veronica Apodaca impacts, and can lead to the kinds of diverse business and service choices we Northwest Healthcare/ all desire. Oro Valley Hospital To compete for employers, Oro Valley must be consistent, agile, Jeff OOROOIAuto responsive, and welcoming to business. Let's allow preliminary work on employment sites so Oro Valley is shovel -ready whenever and wherever Dinny Cosyns possible. NorthStar Strategies When a technical park development abuts residential areas, open houses for Canyon Community EI oye neighbors are warranted. When government has conducted open houses for Bank Innovation Park developments, few people have attended, because residential Cindy Webb Hanson properties are not directly affected. Let's make rules that respect adjacent OneAZ Credit Union residents, but not require open houses when no one lives nearby. Jack Talmage Chair Swope observed last month that signage is a hot -button issue in Oro Oro Valley Country Club Valley. Historically, that's been the case. However, with court rulings and Jeremy Thompson rule changes, Oro Valley's sign code has been improved, complaints Cox diminished, and the public supportive of what's been done. Administrative Bruce Baca review of sign criteria is sufficient. And, remember, as compared to Coldwell Banker retailers, employers are more reserved with signage, and less dependent on Residential Brokerage visibility. Michelle Armstrong As well, the 20 -day town council appeal period of an administrative Tohono Chu/ Park approval appears unnecessary. EEZ applications that gain staff approval otton Suarez have already met zoning and other code requirements adopted by the town EI Conquistador Tucson, A council. A 20 -day wait puts a prospective employer another month behind.Hilton Resort We're pleased to see these proposed amendments, and respectfully request a favorable recommendation from P&Z tonight. My husband and I bought 3.3 acres north and west of Tangerine and LaCholla 17 years ago and built a very nice single story 2800 square foot home on this beautiful desert property. With careful planning, we only removed 1 tree during construction. We love the trees, animals, hawks, owls, deer. Hiking up the washes. It is extremely distressing that you are considering a change to the zoning. >> Beyond the immediate project, which will lower our home values, this would set a precedent for other developers to buy vacant land in the area and build high density. Please respect our sincere desire to keep the 3.3 acre minimal lot size for single residence zoning. Marla Perry Simmons Charles Simmons.
