Purpose
Utilize existing art on campus to satisfy Town art requirement
Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval
Discussion and possible action
The purpose of this case is to consider conceptual public art for PRCA. The Town’s zoning code requires public art for all new non-residential developments. Numerous art pieces have
been installed on the campus over the years, including a performing arts amphitheater. The applicant is requesting to use existing eligible artwork to satisfy the Town’s public art
requirement for current and future building expansion at the campus. The proposal has been reviewed for conformance with the design principles and design standards of the zoning code.
The proposal will ultimately require approval from Town Council, so this case is presented tonight for discussion and possible recommendation.

Applicant’s Request
The applicant is requesting to use existing eligible artworks on campus to satisfy the Town’s public art requirement. Numerous pieces from qualifying artists have been installed over
the years starting in 2006. This includes multiple ceramic tile mosaics by Santa Theresa tile works, a wooden cross by Argentina polo and leather company, and a sundial by John Carmichael.
The applicant is also proposing using an existing performing arts amphitheater on campus to satisfy the public art requirement. The amphitheater is primarily used for school performances,
but it is open and available to the public.
