Please replace original with this version. Valley, I am also a long-time Tucsonan, and both prior to and since vatched closely as discussions and efforts to define new options for 9C) continued. It is clear to any and all that Tucson, and in this case f, could benefit immensely from the conversion of the VGC into a cooperation with the Conservation Fund. The existing walking/riding e and anyone who visits the area would be highly moved by the fl] as the return of a very diverse wildlife community. Since moving to iumerable Bobcats, Mule Deer, Javelina (for better or worse!), many intain lion activity (scat and tracks). and Council continue to work closely with all involved parties to make e entire Town of Oro Valley. Sincerely, Diana Randall Executive Assistant Town Manager, Mayor and Council -----Original Message ----- From: Kay RucI0 Sent: Wednesday, January 20, 202112:34 AM To: Town Council <council@orovalleyaz.gov> Subject: Rehearing of Kai proposal It is unconscionable to even consider increased residential (or any water -dependent) development at a time when it is widely known and communicated to the public that increasingly widespread drought is afflicting AZ. The recent adjacent residential developments along 1st Ave., built wall-to-wall, obviously consume additional large quantities of water from the area right now. Adding more of ANYTHING — homes, hotels, apartments — in the immediate area, affecting the water table in that quadrant, obviously will worsen an already precarious situation. It is incumbent upon each Council person to accept scientific facts — which are well-publicized at this very moment — and deny further water -depleting development. Non-political, factual, scientific data is readily available; acting in defiance to it is inexcusable. You were elected to make decisions based on facts which are now widely known, accepted and critical to the very survival of ALL living things. Accept facts. Be leaders and champions acting on what is now known and widely communicated by scientists, climatologists and natural resource experts. Even TV meteorologists and "weather people" repeatedly show and describe increasing drought areas in our area and throughout adjacent counties in AZ. All of US listen, learn and heed, so it's up to you, our elected representatives, to do likewise. Do NOT approve proposed development projects in the Tangerine, First Avenue, Rancho Vistoso, Oracle Road area. Thank you. Kay Rudek
