HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
REGULAR SESSION
February 1, 2021
REGULAR SESSION AT OR AFTER 5:00 PM
CALL TO ORDER
Chair Munden called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

CALL TO AUDIENCE
Chair Munden opened call to the audience.
No one wished to speak.
Chair Munden closed call to the audience.
COUNCIL LIAISON COMMENTS
Council Member Solomon welcomed the new commissioners.
CONSENT AGENDA
1.REVIEW AND APPROVAL THE JANUARY 4, 2021 MEETING MINUTES
Chair Munden asked for changes to the January 4, 2021 minutes.
Motion by Chair Gail Munden, seconded by Commissioner Puntadeleste Bozeman to approve the
Minutes of the January 4, 2021 Historic Preservation Commission meeting.
Vote: 6 - 0 Carried
REGULAR SESSION AGENDA
1.WELCOME NEW MEMBERS
Chair Munden welcomed two new members who were absent in January. Commissioner Bozeman and
Commissioner Golden introduced themselves.
2.ANNUAL REPORT
Chair Munden presented the attached annual report and asked for discussion. To allow time for review,
the report will be voted on at the March meeting.
3.DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION OF ASSIGNMENTS FOR THE CULTURAL HERITAGE
PRESERVATION PLAN
Chair Munden presented the Heritage Plan and asked for volunteers for the sections.
Motion by Chair Gail Munden, seconded by Commissioner Stephanie Krueger to approve the Oro
Valley Cultural Heritage Preservation Plan component assignments as listed below with assignment
feedback due at the next meeting on Monday, March 1, 2021.
Public Participation and Heritage Education to Commissioner Krueger1.
Historic Steam Pump Ranch to Commissioner Biel2.
Historic Neighborhoods to Commissioners Wilson, Bozeman3.
Town History Records and Reports to Commissioner Hannestad4.
Undeveloped Areas of the Town to Commissioner Golden5.
Honey Bee Village Archeological Preserve to Chair Munden 6.
Vote: 6 - 0 Carried
DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Mrs. Dellerman-Silverthorn gave updates on the Alexander home, Steam Pump Ranch construction to
the garage and Pusch house completed by end of June, University of Arizona Capstone project was
selected by two U of A students to work on the local registry project, and they will present in March, and
the Virtual Celebrate Oro Valley week is moving forward for April; oral histories, arts and culture, and
landscape and wildlife be highlighted during the week and continue moving forward.
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Chair Munden called for future agenda items. Chair Munden asked if any archeological finds or fossils
are uncovered during construction, should they be brought to the Commission during development
review process? Chair Munden asked for an update from Council on the Budget. There were no
additional requests.
ADJOURNMENT
Chair Munden concluded with a request that the Commission research prior minutes and reports in
regard to the Cultural Heritage Preservation Plan. Commissioner Hannestad asked for the link to this
collection of documents.
Motion by Chair Gail Munden, seconded by Commissioner Puntadeleste Bozeman to adjourn the
meeting at 5:33 p.m.
Vote: 6 - 0 Carried
