HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgendas - Historic Preservation Commission - 4/5/2021 (2)MINUTES TOWN OF ORO VALLEY HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION REGULAR SESSION APRIL 5, 2021 VIA ZOOM            REGULAR SESSION AT OR AFTER 5:00 PM   CALL TO ORDER    Chair Biel called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.   ROLL CALL Present: Puntadeleste Bozeman, Commissioner Steve Hannestad, Commissioner Stephanie Krueger, Vice Chair Michael Wilson, Commissioner Dan Biel, Chair Absent: Vacant Vacant Staff Present:Matthew Jankowski, Parks and Recreation Deputy Director Lynanne Dellerman-Silverthorn, Recreation and Cultural Services Manager Brandon Laue, Aquatics Manager MaryAnne Tolmie, Senior Office Specialist Attendees: Steve Solomon, Council Liaison Vanessa Bechtol, Santa Cruz Valley National Heritage Area Corelle Block, 101 W Suffolk Drive Chloe Alexandra Loos, University of Arizona Captsone Edguardo Ibarra, University of Arizona Captsone CALL TO AUDIENCE    Chair Biel opened call to the audience. No one wished to speak. Chair Biel closed call to the audience.   COUNCIL LIAISON COMMENTS    Council member Solomon had nothing to report, although he looks forward to giving a budget update next month.   PRESENTATIONS   1.Visit Tucson presentation on Management Plan for the Santa Cruz Valley National Heritage Area (NHA)      Vanessa Bechtol from the Santa Cruz Valley National Heritage Area presented the attached.   CONSENT AGENDA   1.REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF THE MARCH 1, 2021 MEETING MINUTES       Motion by Chair Dan Biel, seconded by Commissioner Steve Hannestad to approve the March 1, 2021 minutes.  Vote: 5 - 0 Carried   REGULAR SESSION AGENDA   1.PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE PURPOSE OF HISTORICAL LANDMARK DESIGNATION OF THE BLOCK PROPERTY LOCATED AT 101 W SUFFOLK DRIVE       Mrs. Dellerman-Silverthorn introduced the project. Ms. Block made some remarks regarding acquisition and history of the property. Mr. Ibarra and Ms. Loos, University of Arizona Capstone Project interns, spoke of the process that culminates at today's meeting. Chair Biel opened the public hearing. Linda Snow, Oro Valley resident spoke. Chair Biel closed the public hearing. Commissioner Hannestad commented on the excellent work of the interns.    Motion by Chair Dan Biel, seconded by Commissioner Puntadeleste Bozeman to approve the Historical Landmark Designation of the property located at 101 W Suffolk Drive, Oro Valley.  Vote: 5 - 0 Carried   2.DISCUSSION AND REVIEW OF THE CULTURAL HERITAGE PRESERVATION PLAN ELEMENT #5 UNDEVELOPED AREAS OF THE TOWN IN AN EFFORT TO ASSIST STAFF IN SETTING A PRIORITY LIST TO COME BACK TO COMMISSION AT A LATER DATE       Chair Biel commented that since Mr. Golden resigned, the topic would be placed on a future meeting.   3.PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION OF THE PRIORITY LIST FROM THE CULTURAL HERITAGE PRESERVATION PLAN       Mrs. Dellerman-Silverthorn introduced the draft schedule and asked for discussion. There were no objections to the propsosed schedule.   DEPARTMENT UPDATE      FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS ADJOURNMENT Motion by Chair Dan Biel, seconded by Commissioner Steve Hannestad to adjourn at 5:50 p.m. Vote: 5 - 0 Carried I hereby certify that the foregoing minutes are a true and correct copy of the minutes of the regular session of the Town of Oro Valley Historic Preservation Commission of Oro Valley, Arizona held on the 5th day of April, 2021.
