RESIDENT WORKING GROUP MEETING AT OR AFTER 5:30 PM
CALL TO ORDER
Principal Planner Milini Simms called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
AGENDA TOPICS
1.DISCUSSION TO HELP GUIDE THE AMENDMENT PROCESS AND LAND USE MAP FOR THE
COMMUNITY'S NEXT 10-YEAR PLAN, KNOWN AS OV'S PATH FORWARD
Ms. Simms presented the following items:
Tonight's Meeting
Ground Rules
Balanced Approach: Resident Guidance and Development Draft Guiding Principle
Land Use Map
Planning Manager Bayer Vella provided some history and context about the general plan amendment
process and land use map changes.
Principal Planner Milini Simms led the group through a facilitated discussion to gather direction on the
Land Use Map and associated changes, amendment types, process and criteria.
At the end of the discussion, the group achieved consensus on the following:
Parcel-specific land use map changes that align built areas with existing zoning designations
should be made at this time.
Private property owner requests for vacant land that would lead to rezoning should not be made at
this time. These requests should go through the standard amendment process with involvement
from surrounding residents.
No changes to the amendment types or process.
The discussion will continue on the land use map and amendment criteria at the next meeting.
ADJOURNMENT
Principal Planner Milini Simms adjourned the meeting at 7:30 p.m.
