CALL TO ORDER
Chair Moothart called the meeting to order at 6:00p.m.

DEPARTMENT REPORT ON CURRENT EVENTS
Rosalyn Epting reported the following:
Busy summer with camps at multiple locations (CRC, SPR, OVAC)
4th of July event– approximately 10,000 in attendance
In August, Staff attended the annual Arizona Parks & Recreation Association State Conference in
Phoenix
Matt Jankowski won the Outstanding Professional of the Year award.
Steam Pump Ranch
Shade structure and misters are complete
Connector ADA sidewalks are complete
Extended Lawn is complete, more space for events and activities
Currently overseeding the area
Vistoso Trails Nature Preserve

Vistoso Trails Nature Preserve
Final approval on acceptance of a grant from AZ State Parks for trail repair, signage, and adding
an ADA trail around the pond area. $144,500 with a $8,734.36 Town match
Consultant for Desert Ecosystem Restoration Project will be back at council on September 17 for
an update on progress
Pond Plans
Restoration Plans for the site
Finalizing the Standards for Adjacent Homeowners
Donated home that we closed on August 29, the property will be sold with proceeds benefitting
specific areas of the VTNP project.
Monthly updates are added to our website on the parks & recreation page, under parks, then
VTNP
COUNCIL LIAISON REPORT ON CURRENT EVENTS
½ cent sales tax to go into the general fund
Project grad needs donations and people to head committees
Golf event and private auction to benefit project grad
The Chamber is sponsoring a forum on OV business and taxes

Chair Moothart opened the call to the audience. No speakers were present. Chair Moothart closed the
call to the audience.
CONSENT AGENDA
A.REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF THE MAY 20TH 2025, REGULAR SESSION MEETING MINUTES
Motion by Vice Chair Matthew Wood, seconded by Member Megan Worzella to approve the May 20,
2025 regular session meeting minutes
Vote: 6 - 0 Carried
SPECIAL SESSION AGENDA
1.DISCUSSION OF COMMUNITY CENTER FINANCIAL RESULTS THROUGH JUNE 2025
Dave Gephart presented. Members asked questions.
2.DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING PROPOSED INCREASES TO PARKS AND
RECREATION FEES AND THE ASSOCIATED COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT EFFORT
Motion by Vice Chair Matthew Wood, seconded by Member Megan Worzella to approve fee schedule
as is to Town Council
Vote: 6 - 0 Carried

3.DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION TO RECOMMEND APPROVAL AND
IMPLEMENTATION OF A PROPOSED SPORTS FIELD PRIORITIZATION CRITERIA FOR
USE BY THE ORO VALLEY PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT.
Matthew Jankowski presented. Members asked questions.
Motion by Vice Chair Matthew Wood, seconded by Chair Joanne Moothart to support the proposal as
presented
Vote: 6 - 0 Carried
4.PRESENTATION TO UPDATE AND PREPARE THE PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD
FOR THE RELEASE OF THE COMMUNITY COMMENT (60%) DRAFT OF THE COMMUNITY'S NEXT
10-YEAR ACTION PLAN, KNOWN AS OV'S PATH FORWARD.
Rene Olvera presented.
