This section states "the maximum exterior height shall not exceed 18 feet. " The variance requested asks for permission to build a single family residence 28 ' in height and 2 stories. The proposed residence will be centrally located on a 4 . 0 acre lot. Eight property owners whose property is within 300 feet of the Madsen property have been notified of this request. To date, no objections to this request have been received by this office. Several of the adjoining properties have two-story residences constructed on them. The majority of the 2 story height modifications granted previously in town have been in the Hillside District where due to the topography of the particular lot, single story construction was unfeasible and as such Section 1-508a justified the request.
