OV'S PATH FORWARD RESIDENT WORKING GROUP MEETING

RESIDENT WORKING GROUP MEETING AT OR AFTER 5:30 PM
CALL TO ORDER
Principal Planner Milini Simms called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
AGENDA TOPICS
1.DISCUSSION TO REFINE THE COMMUNITY'S NEXT 10-YEAR ACTION PLAN, KNOWN AS OV'S PATH
FORWARD
Ms. Simms presented the following items:

Discussion: Apartments and Renter-Friendly Options
Discussion: “High-quality” Design Standards

Helpful Tips
Ms. Simms then led the group through a facilitated discussion to gather additional guidance on key topics
identified during the BIG Community Review. The group discussed the following topics to determine if
further refinement was needed or if they captured the resident guidance voiced over the past 2 years:
Views— Policy EE.1- EE.4
The group discussed replacing the terms "limit" and "restrict" in policies EE.1 and EE.2. The group was
unable to reach consensus and decided to leave the language as is and defer to the Planning and Zoning
Commission and Town Council for further discussion.
Housing-Guiding Principle, Actions 243, 245, and 247
The group determined the actions reflected resident voices with some minor changes to clarify the action
related to manufactured homes focuses on existing code language.
High-Quality Design
The group achieved consensus to replace the word "high-quality" with "quality" and provide additional
context to clarify the design standards that pertain to architecture.

Ms. Simms then presented the proposed revisions to the topics discussed at the previous meeting.
Performing Arts Center
Central Gathering Area
The group achieved consensus on the revised language for performing arts. Although the revised language
for the central gathering area was headed in the right direction, more revisions are needed to clarify which
elements would unify the corridor and identify a central gathering area on Town property.
At the end of the discussion, the group agreed that another meeting was not necessary. Ms. Simms
thanked everyone for participating and congratulated the group for achieving consensus on all aspects,
except views. Ms. Simms concluded the meeting by presenting the timeline for the upcoming year and how
residents could stay engaged.
ADJOURNMENT
Principal Planner Milini Simms adjourned the meeting at 7:45 p.m.
