LA CAÑADA DRIVE         REGULAR SESSION AT OR AFTER 3:00 PM   CALL TO ORDER There were no speaker requests.   ROLL CALL Present: Joseph Affinati, Member Thomas Gribb, Member Joseph Brandhuber, Vice Chair Daniel Sturmon, Chair Absent: Lori Friedt, Member Staff Present: Steven Zraick, Town Attorney Kyle Packer, Senior Planner Attendees: Josh Nicholson, Town Council Liaison  Vice Chair Brandhuber attended the meeting via Zoom.   PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Chair Sturmon led the Board and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.   CALL TO AUDIENCE There were no speaker requests.   COUNCIL LIAISON COMMENTS Council Liaison Josh Nicholson provided a summary of the budget process and the upcoming election on July 21.   REGULAR SESSION AGENDA   1.REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF THE APRIL 28, 2026 REGULAR SESSION MEETING MINUTES   Motion by Member Thomas Gribb, seconded by Vice Chair Joseph Brandhuber to approve the meeting minutes for April 28, 2026. Vote: 4 - 0 Carried June 23, 2026 Minutes, Board of Adjustment 1   2.PUBLIC HEARING: DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON A VARIANCE REQUEST TO ALLOW AN ADDITION BUILT ONTO THE HOUSE THAT WILL BE 2 FEET 6 INCHES (2'6") TALLER THAN THE R1-36 DISTRICT'S MAXIMUM PERMITTED BUILDING HEIGHT OF 18 FEET, FOR THE HOME LOCATED AT 1980 E. PALISADES ROAD    Senior Planning Technician Patty Hayes provided a presentation that included the following: - Purpose - Location - Applicant's request - Building height - History - Five Findings - Findings - Summary and Recommendation Applicant and homeowner Ron Burris, along with his contractor, were present to answer questions. Discussion ensued among the Board, staff and applicant. Chair Sturmon opened the public hearing. There were no speaker requests. Chair Sturmon closed the public hearing. Discussion continued among the Commission and staff.   Motion by Member Joseph Affinati, seconded by Member Thomas Gribb to grant the variance.    Further discussion ensued among the Board.   Vote: 3 - 1 Carried OPPOSED: Vice Chair Joseph Brandhuber   ADJOURNMENT   Motion by Member Joseph Affinati, seconded by Member Thomas Gribb to adjourn the meeting.    Chair Sturmon adjourned the meeting at 3:27 p.m.     I hereby certify that the foregoing minutes are a true and correct copy of the minutes of the regular session of the Town of Oro Valley Board of Adjustment of Oro Valley, Arizona held on the 23rd day of June 2026.
