ORO VALLEY ART REVIEW COMMISSION
REGULAR SESSION
February 2, 2010

Call to Order at or around 4:00 p.m.
Chairman Hagedorn called the meeting to order at 4:03 p.m.
Roll Call
PRESENT: Steve Hagedorn, Chairman
Jeanie Honn, Vice-Chair
Zev Cywan, Member
Shirley Dornberg, Member
Gail Munden, Member
ABSENT: Matthew Moutafis, Member
EXCUSED: Andrea Fowler, Member
1. Approval of the November 3, 2009, ARC minutes.
MOTION: A motion was made by Member Dornberg and seconded by Vice-Chair
Honn to approve, as amended, the November 3, 2009, ARC meeting minutes.
MOTION carried, 5-0.
2. 0V5-10-001, Dr. Ronald Walker, represented by artist Paul Orzech,
requests conceptual approval of a public art proposal for the Neighborhood
Smile Center, located on lot 10 of the Foothills Business Park in proximity
to the northeast corner of Oracle Road and Hanley Boulevard. For
questions and additional information, please contact David Ronquillo,
Senior Planner, at (520) 229-4817 or dronquillo@orovalleyaz.gov.
Vice-Chair Honn informed the Commission that she is a patient of Dr. Ronald
Walker and asked if anyone felt she should recuse herself. The Commission had
no problem with it and wanted her artistic opinion.
David Ronquillo, OV Senior Planner, presented the following:
- Location Map
- Site Plan
- Conceptual/Final Design
- Building Architecture
- Landscape Plan
Paul Orzech, artist of Paul Orzech Sculpture Studio, presented the following:
- Business brochure
- Sculpture material
- Concrete base with stone facing
- Ram pose
- Location of sculpture
- Mounting illustration
- Sample of patina
MOTION: A motion was made by Member Munden and seconded by Member
Cywan to approve the request for conceptual approval of a public art proposal for
the Neighborhood Smile Center, located on lot 10 of the Foothills Business Park
in proximity to the northeast corner of Oracle Road and Hanley Boulevard.
MOTION carried, 5-0.
3. OV5-10-001, Dr. Ronald Walker, represented by artist Paul Orzech,
requests final approval of a public art proposal for the Neighborhood Smile
Center, located on lot 10 of the Foothills Business Park in proximity to the
northeast corner of Oracle Road and Hanley Boulevard. For questions and

MOTION: A motion was made by Member Cywan and seconded by Vice-Chair
Honn to approve the request for final approval of a public art proposal for the
Neighborhood Smile Center, located on lot 10 of the Foothills Business Park in
proximity to the northeast corner of Oracle Road and Hanley Boulevard.
MOTION carried, 5-0.
Adjournment
MOTION: A motion was made by Vice-Chair Honn and seconded by Member
Munden to adjourn the ARC meeting at 4:35 p.m.
MOTION carried, 5-0.
