SPECIAL SESSION

CALL TO ORDER SPECIAL SESSION AT OR AFTER 6:00 P.M.
Chairman Schoeppach called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M.
ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Michael Schoeppach, Chairman
Ray Shelton, Member
Gene Wowk, Member
Richard Luckett, Member
EXCUSED: Dennis Ottley, Member
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Chairman Schoeppach led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
CALL TO THE AUDIENCE
Open and closed without comment.
SPECIAL AGENDA
1. Sign Criteria for Fairfield Inn & Suites (formerly Holiday Inn Express),
located at 10150 N. Oracle Road within the San Jose Plaza, requested by
Rainbow Signs, OV311-001.
Geno Rosburg, representing the applicant, non resident, presented the following:
- Overview (aerial)
- Original Development Plan
- Existing sign in front of hotel
- Existing sign on Oracle Rd.
- Directional sign
- Registered Service Mark and Colors 2009
- Registered Service Mark 1970 from Marriott

David Ronquillo, Senior Planner, presented the following:
- Request
- Context Map
- Site Plan
- Building and Monument Signs
- Directional Signs
- Compatibility with adjacent signs
- Summary
MOTION: A motion was made by Member Shelton and seconded by Member
Luckett to Approve OV1311-001, sign criteria for Fairfield Inn & Suites, located at
10150 N. Oracle Road within the San Jose Plaza.
MOTION carried, 4-0
2. Planning Division Manager update.
Chad Daines, Principal Planner, presented the following:
- CDRB Council Work group meeting scheduled tonight to review zoning and
Town code amendments related to this project.
- Community Academy Spring classes begin on April 7th with a plenary session
for all board and commission members.
- Neighborhood meeting Thursday, March 24 at 6pm in the Hopi room for
Rancho Vistoso Parcel 7-1.
- Neighborhood meeting Tuesday, March 29 at 6pm in the Hopi Room for
Bighorn Commerce
- The latest edition of the Trend Report for the Tucson Real Estate and New
Development includes an article about "Green Retail". The Oro Valley
Marketplace is the featured shopping center in the article.
Chairman Schoeppach announced at the next meeting there will be a agenda
item on the future of the existing DRB board.
ADJOURNMENT SPECIAL SESSION
The DRB meeting was adjourned at 6:12 P.M.
