1. APPROVAL OF TUESDAY,APRIL 11, 2006 REGULAR SESSION MINUTES
The Tuesday, April 11, 2006 Study Session and Regular Session Minutes to be provided
for the Tuesday, June 6, 2006 Regular Session Meeting..
CALL TO AUDIENCE
Chair Tom Honebrink opened the Call to the Audience.
Chair Honebrink closed the Call to the Audience.
2. PARKS& RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD LIAISON COUNCIL MEMBER
REPORT
Vice Mayor Terry Parish reported that four qualified candidates were interviewed for the
upcoming vacancies for the Parks&Recreation Advisory Board.
3. PRESENTATION BY CHIEF DANIEL SHARP REGARDING VOLUNTEER
PARK MONITORS FOR TOWN PARKS—DISCUSSION
Chief Sharp discussed volunteer park monitors with in Town Parks with the Parks &
Recreation Advisory Board.

Chief Daniel Sharp commented he appreciated the opportunity to work with Parks&
Recreation in future endeavors.
4. STATUS REPORT ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF A DRAFT TOWN POLICY
REGARDING DONATIONS TO THE TOWN AND AUTHORIZATION OF
CORPORATE NAMING OPPORTUNITIES — DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE
ACTION
Board Member Ray Caryl reported that the subcommittee is gathering information to be
presented at the next Parks&Recreation Advisory Board Regular Session Meeting.
Parks &Recreation Advisory Board Branding subcommittee members requested that the
Parks &Recreation Administrator Ainsley Reeder send copies of information retrieved to
Vice Mayor/Parks &Recreation Advisory Board Liaison Terry Parish.
5. SET PARKS & RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD REGULAR MEETINGS
SCHEDULE FOR THE YEAR -DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION
Parks&Recreation Advisory Board Regular Session meetings will be the first Tuesday
of each month.
The Parks &Recreation Advisory Board agreed on the following dates for PRABs
regular session meetings:
Tuesday, June 6. 2006
Tuesday, July 11, 2006
Tuesday, August 1, 2006
Tuesday, September 12, 2006
Tuesday, October 3, 2006
Tuesday,November 7, 2006
Tuesday, December 5, 2006
6. CONSIDER ESTABLISHING AN ANNUAL ORO VALLEY PARKS &
RECREATION AWARD -DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION
Chair Tom Honebrink discussed considering establishing an annual Oro Valley Parks&
Recreation award.
Item for discussion:
■ What will be the criteria?Policy?
■ When presented?
■ Selection Process?
■ Develop expense estimates
■ Generate excitement about the award

7. STATUS REPORT ON THE NARANJA TOWN SITE TRAILS DEVELOPMENT
—DISCUSSION
Parks &Recreation Administrator Ainsley Reeder reported that staff completed the
development of the trail at the Naranja Town Site.
Parks&Recreation staff has met with signage companies to obtain quotes and design.
Site furniture has been ordered. 50% of the tools to develop the trail have been
purchased.
8. BOARD MEMBER REPORTS- ATTENDANCE AT OTHER TOWN MEETINGS
INCLUDING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT, FINANCE AND BOND
COMMITTEE, DEVELOPMENT REVIEW BOARD, HISTORICAL
PRESERVATION COMMISSION, PLANNING COMMISSION AND TOWN
COUNCIL
Board Member Margot Hurst reported on the Historical Preservation Commission in
regards to the presentation by Robert Shelton and Historical Preservation Ordinance.
Board Member Ray Caryl had no report on Town Council.
Chair Tom Honebrink had no report on Board of Adjustment.
Vice Chair Dennis Ottley had no report on Town Council.
Board Member Laura Clark had no report on the Finance and Bond Committee
Board Member Robert Evans reported on the Development Review Board in regards to
the Home Occupation Permit.
9. PARKS & RECREATION ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT
Parks&Recreation Administrator Ainsley Reeder commented on the following:
■ Parks & Recreation Division to Department Status as recommended by Town
Manager for the FY 2006 — 2007 Budget and listed on the Parks & Recreation
Advisory Board Work Plan.
■ Naranja Town Site Programming and Concept Design
■ Parks & Recreation Budget scheduled for review by Town Council on May 10,
5:30 p.m.—7:30 p.m.

10. PARKS& RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD CHAIR REPORT
Chair Honebrink reported on the following:
■ Parks & Recreation Advisory Board (PRAB) Member Mark Arneson officially
resigned from the board.
■ Congratulated PRAB for contacting user groups
■ Parks &Recreation Division to Department status
■ Friends of the Parks moving forward
■ PRAB contact Greater Oro Valley Arts Council (GOVAC) to discuss role in
Town,relationship with PRAB and how to communicate with each other.
11. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
■ Contracted Instructor or Organization Presentation
■ Add Lights with Tennis Courts at High School
■ Budget Committee
■ Schedule Adopt A Trail Clean Up Date
12. SCHEDULING NEXT PARKS & RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD
MEETING
The next Parks&Recreation Advisory Board Regular Session is scheduled for Tuesday,
June 6, 2006 at or after 6:30 p.m. Location to be determined.

Chair Tom Honebrink adjourned the Tuesday,May 2, 2006,Parks &Recreation
Advisory Board Regular Session Meeting at 7:37 p.m. with no objections.
